With the support from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Serunai Commerce Sdn Bhd has officially launched the I-Bimbing Halal module in the Verify Halal^TM Mobile Apps during the ‘Halal on Track’ program organised by JAKIM on October 9, 2023. 

The launch ceremony was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at Dewan Tunku Canselor, Universiti Malaya, observed by the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr Haji Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, Deputy Minister of Economy, YB Dato Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib, Director General of JAKIM, YBhg Datuk Hajah Hakimah Mohd Yusoff, Group Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Serunai Commerce Sdn Bhd, Puan Amnah Shaari together with JAKIM’s stakeholders and 2000 Halal industry entrepreneurs. 

Understanding the challenges for entrepreneurs to implement Halal certification procedures especially among micro and SMEs, Serunai Commerce being the strategic partner and in collaboration with JAKIM, has developed the I-Bimbing Halal module to assist the industries in assessing their readiness level towards Malaysia Halal certification application. Through the questionnaires, entrepreneurs will be able to understand their eligibility for Halal certification and able to plan for action towards improvement and rectification. This will increase the success rate of their Halal certification applications.

The Halal On Track is a program hosted by JAKIM for entrepreneurs to obtain and understand more information related to Malaysia’s Halal certification. This program is also a strategic platform for JAKIM to provide information and knowledge and meet the industry and entrepreneurs in a one-to-one session for free. There were also sharing sessions on Halal from relevant stakeholders such as the Halal Management Division of JAKIM, Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Maybank as well as Serunai Halal Centre of Excellence.

During the session, Ustaz Mohd Jabal, the Head of Halal Centre of Excellence of Serunai, shared that I-Bimbing Halal consists of three sections with a total of 80 questions based on the requirements of the Malaysian Halal Certification Procedure Manual (Domestic) 2020 (MPPHM Domestic 2020). The results of this survey will be determined through the scores from the overall report.
