Represented by business development manager Anizan Roselan at SliSS 2024, the company showcased its pioneering VenTech VS1 ventilator, a product under development since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This device aims to place Malaysia at the forefront of medical technology production rather than solely relying on imports.
Anizan shared that the idea to develop a ventilator in-house came from the company’s MD, who saw the potential for Malaysia to shift from an importer to a producer of advanced medical devices.
“Our MD’s vision was to innovate rather than simply procure equipment from abroad,” she said.
This shift began with establishing an R&D division within Advance Pact to design the VenTech VS1, now undergoing clinical trials on 40 patients, with mass production anticipated by the first quarter of 2025.
In addition to the VenTech VS1, Advance Pact is advancing research on the VS2 Pro, which will AI and wireless capabilities.
“AI helps humans in analysing and suggesting what to do next,” Anizan said. She also highlighted the potential of AI to aid in patient diagnostics and predictive maintenance for the equipment. Collaborating with Mimos Bhd, the company envisions a future where the VS2 Pro will enhance diagnostic accuracy and offer predictive capabilities, further supporting healthcare professionals.
Promoting Halal Compliance
Zaiyadal Keluarga Sdn Bhd made a strong presence at SIBS 2024, showcasing new products under its subsidiary IPTV Sdn Bhd, which are Buraq brands and its innovative VH SMART™ Halal traceability system.
Deputy CEO Ahmad Zikri Ahmad Sofi highlighted the company’s focus on offering halal-certified products and solutions, a mission in line with Zaiyadal Group’s vision.
Among the showcased products were the Buraq Cool six-litre mineral water and the new Buraq Lube series, including 10W40 semi-synthetic and 20W50 mineral oil for vehicles, showcased at SIE F&B 2024.
The lubricants, priced at approximately RM70 to RM80 for a four-litre bottle, are available at Buraq Oil and Buraq Mart networks, as well as on online platforms like Shopee and Lazada.
“We aim to make halal products accessible to a broad market, from daily consumables to automotive needs,” Ahmad Zikri said.
Adding a unique edge, the VH SMART™ system is IPTV’s pioneering halal traceability solution, allowing consumers to verify halal status simply by scanning a product barcode.
While still in development, with plans to incorporate the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia’s (JAKIM) official database, the system aspires to become the world’s first global Halal data pool.
This innovation aligns with IPTV’s objective to uphold and promote halal compliance across product lines.
Meanwhile, Zaiyadal Group manager of digitalisation Syamsul Jasbin provided insights into VH SMART™, an innovative platform designed to modernise halal assurance.
The VH SMART™ system, along with the Verify Halal™ mobile app, allows users to verify halal certification status by scanning product barcodes, which are linked to a digital database.
The app integrates directly with JAKIM’s records, helping consumers check if a product has been certified.
VH SMART™ not only benefits consumers but also serves businesses by offering a comprehensive Halal assurance management system.
This digital platform enables companies to upload documentation and certification information for products, suppliers and raw materials, streamlining their halal application processes.
Once completed, applications are submitted to JAKIM for review, ensuring materials and certifications meet Malaysia’s rigorous halal standards.
While VH SMART™ has been available for two years, recent advancements include a potential partnership with JAKIM to use the platform in place of the current MYeHalal system.
“We are in the process of securing JAKIM’s approval within the next six months,” Syamsul said.
VH SMART™ could soon become a key component of Malaysia’s halal certification landscape.
